This week Ms. Citlalli gave a presentation on Peru and showed pictures from her trip to Machu Picchu. We learned that a scientist who studies insects is an entomologist and reviewed the characteristics and differences of the insect and the arachnid. We discovered the life cycle of an insect is called metamorphosis and the insect's exoskeleton is on the outside of their body. The children found this interesting! We looked at a common house fly through a microscope. The children were able to see the fly up close! These science lessons fit perfectly with our rainforest lessons. As many as 1,000 different types of insects have been found in just one tree in a rainforest canopy!!!
Also...We are excited about our Earth Day activities on Friday.
***Remember, the JBMA Auction is this Saturday at 6:30! We have been working hard on completing our classroom art projects. We hope all parents can make this fantastic event!!!
