Week in Review

This week we began our study of Australia, birds, and Edgar Degas. We learned that Australia is the smallest continent and Ms. Citlalli shared her didgeridoo with the class. We discussed the parts of a bird and the life cycle of the chicken. This week we talked a lot about respect. The children made a special heart chain and wrote ways they can be respectful onto their links. We began painting one of Edgar Degas works and the children are having fun painting hearts for Valentine's Day! We also talked about Groundhog day on Tuesday....Punxsutawny Phil did not see his shadow.

We are practicing our song for The International Festival. In addition, we are learning a different song that we will be singing next Friday for the school's Peace Ceremony. This has been a busy week!!!

Dates to remember:
- Feb 9: Field Trip for Kindergarten students to Children's Theatre.
- Feb 12: Valentine's Party.  Please send 21 Valentines cards with only the 'from' filled out for your child to share with classmates.
- Feb 15: School Holiday/President's Day.
- Feb 19: Peace Ceremony at 9AM in the Gym.
