Science Friday

Plants need sun, soil and water to live and grow.  Our experiment this week aimed at demonstrating flowers drinking water.  We took 4 glasses, filled them with water then food coloring and placed a white carnation in each color.  The children predicted the carnation's petals would change to the color of the colored water.

Our white flowers turned green, red, blue and yellow!
Our final experiment: how the red carnation would change if placed in the blue water.
Its veins are red and blue! (flower on far left)
